Rings made with a brush and quink/distemper on Japanese paper 20″ x 30″
These are rings made in gradated shades by changing the amount of water in the ink. I try to make the rings as evenly as possible. There is blotting because of the poor quality of the paper and the high humidity due to the tail-end of a cold front affecting our region.
However, I am fairly satisfied with these exercises. The intention is to observe and learn to measure the similarity and dissimilarity between shades.
