Blackbird

After termination of the so-called ‘therapy”, Kit Balane blamed Fatima for misbehaving while completely ignoring his own role in prompting such behaviour.

There is a black bird perched on the woman’s hand. The black bird is looking intently into the woman’s face. The bird has a red patch on its face. The woman’s upper half face likewise is red. There is a crack across the woman’s torso that breaks into her heart. She has deep red lips and fingernails. The alugbati has crawled up her right arm and her long graying hair. Pointing towards her face are alugbati flowers and young alugbati berries.

I went to psychotherapy for help. Instead, my condition worsened. I was maltreated and exploited in therapy. The therapy reports blamed me for my symptoms. This drove me to self-harm and suicide attempts. When I made an ethics complaint, I was threatened.

But You, O God, shall bring them down to the pit of destruction; Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; But I will trust in You.
