If indeed there was no intent on Respondent to falsely advertise, he should have just put “Ph.D. in Psychology Candidate”, or if he could not help indicate his “Ph.D. in Human Resource Management”, he should have indicated where it is appropriate–

The woman is in a yoga pose. The pig, cat and bird are mimicking her. They are in a garden with peace lilies, arrowhead vines and bromeliads.

I had mild depression which became worse because of psychotherapy. The psychologist was very popular. I trusted him. His social media pages said he had a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Ateneo de Manila University. But during therapy I was getting worse. Yet I stayed in therapy for nearly 6 months because I needed help and really believed the Psychologist had advanced academic credentials.

Anyone who would see those posts would not mistake that the one who made such posts claims that “Kit N. Balane” has “PHD Clinical Psychologist” or has “Doctor in Philosophy in Clinical Psychology”.

Then I quit therapy. I couldn’t take it anymore. I tried lots of things to get better. I tried yoga and meditation. I didn’t try religion because the Psychologist was very active in Catholic church. I couldn’t trust any religion where one of its most active and popular leaders was so bad. I saw videos of him preaching. It made me fear religion.

So I lodged an ethics complaint against Kit Balane. I won my case. He was found guilty of violating several provisions in the Code of Ethics.
