RIDING THE PIG IN THE GARDEN, 2022
Fatima Lasay
11 W x 8.5 H inches, acrylic on watercolor paper 200gsm
My pig was sick when I painted this in July 2022. By the end of August, my pig died and was buried in the garden. For a pig farmer, death is a part of life. There’s a beautiful garden. The sky is pink, the ground is blue and the flora are colorful and exotic. The woman is riding a pig. The pig looks like a wild boar. The woman has a peaceful expression.
I had mild depression. When my problems became worse, my husband and I decided to see a Psychologist. It was the biggest mistake of our lives, it was the beginning of unspeakable misery.
But because I was very vulnerable and I did not know how to assess the quality of a therapist, I continued with therapy. I remained respectful, cooperative and did my best to maintain a positive attitude towards therapy.
Later, the Psychologist was found guilty of violating ethics rules.
